Canon Baptist Church exists to proclaim Jesus Christ so that God might be exalted and people might be transformed. God's purpose for our church is that we would enjoy Him and make disciples so that others might know Christ.
We prioritize worship through the preaching of the Word, prayer, singing, and the mutual encouragement of one another.
Our vision is to be a people transformed by the power of God's Spirit through the preaching of his Word and through the ministry of one another as a local body.

Ephesians 3:20–21
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (ESV)
We strive to see individuals brought to saving faith in Christ and made mature in him, marriages and relationships strengthened and restored by God's redemptive power, and our community and nation transformed by the light of the gospel.
Our Calling & Vision

Orthodox & Traditional
We rest firmly on the faith once for all delivered to the saints as revealed in Scripture and expressed in the historic church confessions. In short, we believe what the church has believed throughout the ages.

We affirm that God exists in Trinity - One God in three Persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
God is the creator of all things, seen and unseen. He governs the universe by his sovereign power, and he has authority over all things.
Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life. He was crucified for our sins, buried, and resurrected on the third day. He has ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father until he returns again bodily and visibly to judge the living and the dead.

Evangelical & Baptist
We affirm and celebrate the biblical truths concerning salvation recovered during the Reformation, Great Awakening, and Baptist missions movement. We hold to the five Solas of the Reformation, that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone, as revealed in our highest authority, Scripture alone.

More specifically, we are Baptist in that we affirm that each local church is autonomous, that only believers are included in God's new covenant people, and that baptism by immersion should be administered by the church to those who profess faith in Christ and turn to him in repentance.
Our church's statement of faith is The Baptist Faith & Message 2000.

Missional & Connectional
We eagerly work with likeminded churches to share the gospel of Christ far and wide.

We cooperate with churches in our area through our local baptist association, with churches in our state through the Georgia Baptist Convention, and with congregations across the world through the Southern Baptist Convention.
