What We Believe

“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.”

John 6:47

Canon Baptist Church exists to proclaim Jesus Christ so that God might be exalted and people might be transformed. God's purpose for our church is that we would glorify and enjoy Him forever. We are called to make disciples so that others might know Christ, too.

We prioritize worship through the preaching of the Word, prayer, singing, baptism, the Lord’s Supper, and the mutual encouragement of one another.

  • We rest firmly on the faith once for all delivered to the saints as revealed in Scripture and expressed in the historic church confessions. In short, we believe what the church has believed throughout the ages.

We affirm that God exists in Trinity - One God in three Persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

  • We affirm and celebrate the biblical truths concerning salvation recovered during the Reformation, Great Awakening, and Baptist missions movements. We hold to the five Solas of the Reformation, that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone, as revealed in our highest authority, Scripture alone. Every person has a duty to repent, believe, and be born again.

  • We affirm that each local church is autonomous, that only believers are included in God's new covenant people, and that baptism by immersion should be administered by the church to those who profess faith in Christ and turn to him in repentance.

Our church's statement of faith is The Baptist Faith & Message 2000.

We willingly partner with other likeminded churches in the Hebron Baptist Association, Georgia Baptist Convention, and Southern Baptist Convention

Ephesians 3:20–21

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
